OUR STORY

Rooted in a legacy that began with Colour U Cosmetics, founded by Karen Stallings, FACE INTERNATIONAL launched in 2014 as the company’s upscale, edgy boutique cosmetics brand. That same year, Tremale Sims joined the company as Counter Manager and played an influential role in the launch, opening, daily management, artistry, customer experience, and development of the FACE INTERNATIONAL counter.

The brand was created with a strong commitment to meeting the beauty needs of women of color while remaining inclusive of every complexion, ethnicity, and individual expression. In 2025, ownership passed from Karen to Tremale, who became owner and CEO. This new chapter honors the company’s foundation while advancing its vision for beauty, inclusivity, and the evolution of makeup artistry, one face at a time.

A LETTER FROM OUR OWNER & CEO

For more than 25 years, makeup artistry has been more than a profession for me. It has been one of the ways I connect with people. My career has included work with respected names such as MAC, Prescriptives, Christian Dior, Iman, Origins, and Flori Roberts, to name a few. I have also worked across television, film, magazines, published projects, and celebrity collaborations, while gaining professional education in skincare and serving in leadership roles throughout my career.

My artistry began as something instinctive, a natural gift and talent that I have spent a lifetime strengthening and sharing with the world. I believe makeup is a superpower. The finished look matters, but the feeling it creates for my clients matters even more.

I have seen makeup help someone who was sick, struggling, experiencing depression, or simply carrying the weight of life feel like a million dollars and, for a moment, forget everything weighing on them. Experiences like these remind me that this work is about far more than appearance. It is about connection, confidence, transformation, and how people feel when they leave our chair.

As owner and CEO, my vision is to protect real artistry, create memorable experiences for our customers, and encourage emerging beauty professionals to discover, strengthen, and trust their gifts. FACE INTERNATIONAL is not simply about selling makeup. It is about helping people recognize the beauty, confidence, and possibility already within them.
